Nikon d5600 expensive or what

I dont want one but thought they are expensive

I thought that, was just adding the comparison for others hence the smiley, looks like a desperate bid to sell a theoretical upgrade.

I think I will stick with the D3400. Yes the extra AF points on the D5600 would be handy, but not at that extra cost.

Does seem so. Ok isn't the 3 series about 400 and the 5 series around 600?

I would have thought that's not a bad price at all for a brand new model on the scene. It's less than half the price of the D500, end of the day, your end images will be much the same.

The way things are going I think. I fully expect the D7300 or whatever it's called to break the £1k barrier quite comfortably when it arrives. The D750 is almost back to where it was 2 years ago in terms of price.

You can get a d7100 for a lot less

The d7100 when first released was over £1K, I seem to remember the d7200 was a little cheaper at release. The d750 was a crazy good price and an excellent camera for the price.

It does seem like release prices are increasing, £800 for the new d5xxx body is a little crazy when there is likely to be very small upgrades from the previous model. A d7xxx series body is much better just for the extra controls. I've never really seen the need for the d5xxx series, you have the entry level d3xxx series then the d7xxx for the additional controls and AF. The d5xxx just seem to fit the market when it could just be covered by the d3xxx and d7xxx series.

I might be wrong but I believe the D5k series is their best seller.

Wasn't the D5500 kit £719 on launch, so considering the recent increase in prices due to the strength of the pound it's about on par.

Why would you pay extra for a D5600 over the D5500 when you get lumbered with Snapbridge? :tumbleweed:

Nikon really has lost the plot ! Nothing new here, just a rehash of old technology in a dx body with a new number.
Snapbridge is nothing exciting, You'd be mad to pay that price.

It was pretty much the same for the new D3xxx camera.
