Hi.
I have two D5100 bodies. One, used currently, has almost 40k on the clock and few dead pixels. But I like it cause it works with non Nikon battery.
The other body has about 14k on the clock and no dead pixels. It has been sat unused as I thought it was damaged - plastic covers are not in best state, AF assist light has no lens and I pulled it outside so it sits flat etc. Everything works as it did before I borrowed it to someone (almost brand new body +70-300 VR went down the drain :banghead::banghead::banghead
but I'm getting strange error when using aftermarket battery - 'cannot use this battery, use one that is meant for this camera' or something along these lines.
Now that is puzzling me a bit - why one would work and other wouldn't? These are exactly same bodies after all.
Is there any way I could sort it out?
Cheers
Tom
