A friend of mine just gave me a Nikon D50 and i was wondering if anyone can give me the low down on it
like different things i can do with it
also i would like to know if theres any thing i need to buy like accessories for it that are a must need, or even any tips that could help. :help:

Have a look at the Nikon website - it will have the manual in pdf form & sales blurb to help. I have had a D50 for a while & it is a cracking camera. Get used to it & then see what extra bits you need to suit your style of photography

I've had a couple of D50s and it's a great wee camera - it'll work with most Nikon lenses and because it has the 1/500 flash sync speed it's a great camera to use for off-camera flash
 
Great little camera regret ever getting rid of mine should have kept it...

As long as you have a memory card a lens and a pair of legs you are goof to go.

If you have not used a DSLR before you can slap it into green square mode and away you go and when you get used to the camera you can start to play with the other modes like Aperture and Shutter priority...

Just have fun and get out there..

WOW i wish i had friends who gave me dslr's lol!

On a more constuctive note, i use a D50 and love it. It may not be as good as some of the newer models but i dont think you can get much better for learning photography.

For normal everyday snapping the 18-55 lens that comes with the camera is pretty good and should keep you entertained for a bit.

Best thing to do is just play with it learning the differant modes. Get yourself a beginners guide to photography book and you can't go wrong.
