:banghead: just signed up last week can anyone give me advice on the best settings for my new camera it is a nikon coolpix 8700 when im taking pics most of them turn out blurred
I've had a couple of Nikon Coolpix variants and found them excellent - you really shouldn't be having these sort of problems. No offence mate, but it sounds like a really basic lack of understanding, and if you're a newcomer why should you understand it anyway?
There are two possible reasons why your pics aren't sharp....
Innacurate focusing
Too slow a shutter speed to overcome your own movement, (camera shake)or too slow a shutter speed for a moving subject.
Have a read through this thead Tony and see if it helps at all. If not just sing out.
It's difficult to advise you without being familiar with the camera, but if it has an 'Action' programme mode, that will always bias in favour of a faster shutter speed which should help a lot.
