Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 50mm f/1.8G Lens

Hi all,

I was wondering if I could get a little help, I have a Nikon D5100 and was wondering if the above lens would work with the autofocus on my camera?

In a word, yes! The letters to look out for on lenses suitable for the entry level Nikons are AF-S for Nikkors and HSM for Sigmas. Not sure how Tamron label their equivalent (or the other small brands).

(BTW, I wouldn't say you had no idea what you're doing - at least you're aware that your lens choice is slightly limited!!!)

It's a constant learning curve but the climb does get easier. Eventually!!! (Even after 30+ years, I'm still learning - this place is an excellent place to learn stuff.)
