is £500 a good/bad price for a mint second-hand one of these

Depends on the age of the lens. If it's a newish two ring version then it's about right, if it's an old push-pull then it's robbery

You could probably get a mint one for £350, dunno why you would want to though...

I've paid £120 for the old push pull version (AF-N) and £335 for the two-touch AF-D.

Personally I would'nt pay me than £425 tops... given you can get a Sigma 70-200 which is just as good, and focuses quicker.

i sold a 60-200 push pull on ebay for £450 i think it was. wouldnt pay that for one though
