Nikon 85mm f1.8d AF Lens Question

Will this lens work okay on my D90? I currently use a 50mm f1.8d AF lens with no issues however I've read that the 85mm will not work. :shrug:
 
It will work perfectly fine.
 
I've just checked that eBay listing and I am stomped! Andy is a lot better versed at Nikon than I am, and that post does seem to be his.

I am not sure as to why this lens would not work on the bodies he's said it wouldn't! May be you ought to PM him? My understanding is that it would work, only that it would not autofocus on the D40, D40x, D60; but it seems I may be mistaken.
 
The 85 1.8 will work on a d100, d80, d90, d70 and d50 i'm confuddled by his comment? :D
