Can I use the Nikon 80-200mm f2.8 AFD & TC-14E together?

Will autofocus still work? The nikon site doesn't list 80-200 on it's list.

Cheers.

I think that TC only works with AFS lenses so it wont work with your AFD lens as there's no drive screw connection.

I took my 80-200 AF D lens to Jessops recently to try the Nikon 1.7 TC and it would not fit on mine, so I think the answer is no unless you can get hold of an older teleconverter.

Ahhh, thanks for that.

So what teleconverter would people reccomend for the above lens as I can't use the Nikon one.

I have a Kenko Teleplus 2x convertor on mine, and it works well, AF works nicely, and meters correctly (or so i think)

These were all taken with the above combo:

Although I have never used one, I believe the Kenko is the one to go for when you have screw drive lenses.

Great price on the Kenko, I think i'll have to have a look at that one then.

Krazy horse your photos seem nice and sharp. Impressive.
