Nikon 70-200 2.8 vr

I'm in the market for the 2.8 from nikon, 2nd hand, and was wondering what defects I should be looking for.

You shouldnt have any defects on a lens of that calibre, if it has..walk away.

There were some reported 'issues' with an earlier batch of the VRII;

I made sure that before I parted with a great deal of hard-earned cash for mine, I thoroughly inspected it, even if it meant opening the Nikon box up in front of the retailer

But as TCR4x4 says, a lens of this calibre (professional quality) should most certainly not have any problems, be it the VR or VRII version!

You could buy from a reputable 2nd hand dealer like MPB (http://www.mpbphotographic.co.uk/) who are honest in the item descriptions and offer a 6 month warranty.

There's a few on there at the moment.

No problem, I bought my Nikon 10-24 from them. Very pleased with the service. Item was better than described tbh.

Wouldn't hesitate using them again.
