Nikon 50mm f1.4 D AF Lens VS Nikon 50mm f1.4 AF-S Lens

Hi All

Apart from the built-in Silent Wave Motor (SWM). Is this lens any better than older model? As im looking to getting one either december or january time. Not seen any reviews on the new one yet.

I spose it will be the fact its a newer model so better improvements :shrug:

Well some times its best to ask simple questions.

:shrug: No-one has seen one yet - better start saving though most retailers have it for pre-order at between £280-300

Thats great, but does anyone know if they are doing the f1.8 as an AF-S too for those people who have D40/40x/60s like my daughter and wife !

I can't see any benefit of an AF-S 1.4 over the older one on D80s and above on spec but obviously we need to see the pictures.
