Hi, has anybody taken up the 3rd year nikon warranty offer? £8.75 a month for 12 months covers accidental damage and theft - worldwide, sounds like a reasonable policy especially on a D700 any thoughts ?

Thanks in advance, Lee.

Depends who operates it. I received the paperwork for the 2nd year on my D300 and it had the camera listed as a D200, purchased 2 months before the D300 was announced. I phoned them up and pointed out the error and they said they'd amend the details and send me a new certificate.

That was 5 months ago........

Hmmm does'nt sound too good, thinks it's through "homeserve" phoned up on the Nikon registration number as i registered for the second free year on the website but was'nt convinced it had gone through as i had'nt had a welcome pack through. I have 45 days to cancel it any way so think i'll see what happens with the paperwork

Regards Lee.

Homeserve....that's them. I'll need to chase them up and see what they have to say about the D300 one....

I had some problems with Homeserve sending the wrong camera & lenses on paperwork Flash. However, when the lens got killed they replaced it within a week (vouchers) after I had sent it off to be checked. They knew it was properly dead as it was in 3 pieces when they got it!

I have to say that they sent vouchers for more than I actually paid for the lens and they were aware of what I had paid. I actually ended up using them for another D300 at the time that I sold to our friend Mr P. Iles (sorry Ade) who ended up with a decent deal on a new D300. Never knew he had a gun though, although he does have a look of menace in his eyes

Just off to a safehouse

Chris :)
