nikon 300mm old version af Vs sigma 120-300mm f2.8

hello all,


ive been looking for a 300mm af old version for ages now and the cheapest im finding is like 1800 seen a couple of good condition sigmas. are they up to scratch with the old version 300mm will be used for football and rugby next season

Its a really good lens Alex and if funds are a problem you simply wont find a better lens for the money.

Can't mention the Nikon as I don;t have one but I got a 120-300 sigma and no problems here, there are some shots on my site from Wembley and using that if its any help

the 120-300 is my weapon of choice on the 1Dmk3 currently. its a supurb lens, although can get pretty heavy during a full days shooting.
