So I have the 24-70mm f4 lens and yesterday found it a bit short on the long end so considering buying the 24-120mm f4 so the question is should I keep both or would the 24-120mm do everything that the 24-70 can and a bit more, reason I put this under beginner is it has been a long time (years) since I tried seascapes and I want to get back into it with slow shutter speeds so any thoughts/advice please? Thankyou, Russ.

Hmmm I have just got the z24-70 .. and a nice lens to .. the only thing that stopped me getting the 24-120 was price there £650 on the grey market god knows how much u.k price . A more sensible approach might be an equivalent reach in F mount FF and a FTZii adaptor especially if using near the sea . I.e salt spray etc .

Thanks for the reply, decided to go for that 24-120 and sell the 24-70 from what I've been reading the 24-120 does all the 24-70 does but gives that little longer reach. Russ.

Good decision Russ. It's a really good lens.

The 24-70 F4 was my first lens when I went to the Z system, but I followed it with a 24-120 lens within a few months. That’s on my Z7ii 80% of the time as it’s so versatile, but my daughter has been using the 24-70 a lot on my Z6ii a lot of late and when I looked at one of the files I was reminded just how sharp it is.

The 24-120 is very good, but the 24-70 is definitely the sharper lens, if that kind of thing is important to you. It’s also a bit more compact too.
