Only one cheaper is Martin's Camera Shop, and there's no indication of stock.

Then you'd have a lens that didn't focus properly, as you need the filter/filter holder....

No idea, however you need the filter holder and filter in order for the lens to focus correctly. A new filter and holder will set you back something like £150, so the WEX one's not exactly a bargain.....
