Picked up a Nikkormat EL at the car boot today, meter not working so presume battery dead.
Where would I get a 4SR44 from .
Could not find the bloody thing at first till I downloaded the manual.

What a crafty and bloody awkward place to put it :nono:

Lens a Nikon 50mm f/2 has the dreaded fungus spreading across it so put it in the sunlight and hope for the best,
Case with a load of filters came with it as well and a hoya cpl and cokin NDF
cover the cost paid for camera.
Help appreciated guys.:D

Its thirty years since I saw and used this camera. Does the battery slip into the end at the bottom. Is it a watch style battery

I got an FM about a month ago with a 50mm f1.8 for £20 :) Anyway I spent hours cleaning it and disassembling it because the meter did not work then found out that the batteries were in backwards!! It works a treat - not sure about the pictures until tomorrow when I get my first film back.

As for the battery ignore the leading 4, you want an SR44 battery and any jewellers will have loads but somewhere like CPC will have them for a pittance.

Here we are 20 for £4.17

If you want 2 quickly then nip to the watch shop on Chapel St that fits watch batteries for £1, if they fit them for £1 they must be able to supply them for that much :)

Stew, you have to take off the lens, lock up the mirror,
And at the bottom there is a lid that lifts up revealing the battery.Battery larger than watch battery to.about half the size of a AA.

Would never of found it there...:suspect:

Thanks for the link Darren , jammy b#gger to I see.:D

Got mine for £23 ,but would have talked him down more if I had spotted the fungus in the lens :'(
Still ,got the filters. a small Canon bag.......and instructions for a F 301  :lol:

Got one now, registers on the little check button, but meter not working :'(

Went to the car boot on sunday though and picked up Ricoh 35 S rangefinder
Came with lenshood ,Prinze flash and cord and case.

Meter works ,range finder works and shutter also works.
