Nikkor white lenses

Stick with black, no lens should be white, grey or cream.

I'd hate to have a white lens.

People look at you and ask stoopid questions and the scum target you because they know it's expensive and they'll get their next fix if they sell it.

Im sure i read somewhere that the Canon white lenseses were white to prevent heat distortion... this sounded like BS to me, knowing the linear thermal expansion rates of Aluminium and Mag Alloy... a few degrees C aint gonna affect them, the Fluorite lens elements arent going to die if they get a bit warmer... so whats the point... Simple marketing? so they stand out? which they dont because everyone seems to be using big white lenses so black ones stand out better.... in fact a custom painted blue 400f2.8IS stood out really well at the BGP this year.

Who wants to be mistaken for a Canooon owner FFS?
Black is good - and still works in 60C desert heat too.
