Nikkor AF-S 35mm f/1.8 DX G not working

I've got a Nikkor AF-S 35mm f/1.8 DX G with the AF not working. Works perfectly otherwise (mf). Has anyone had a similar problem and ever found a fix? I am happy to attempt a repair if I've got a reasonable clue about the process involved......

Have you tried cleaning the electrical contacts as a first port of call?

Fixation fixed the (front/back)focusing problem I had. Might be worth giving them a call in the week to see if it sounds something like they could fix. Customer service with them is pretty good and they give a guarentee for 3 months or so after fixing.

Assuming the cleaning contacts didn't work.
If you know anyone with a nikon, see if it works on their camera?

Thanks guys. I cleaned the contacts but no joy. Looks like a paid fix or nothing.
