I have been asked to shoot for a new venue, But I am not sure if there is any money in it. Has anyone tried it and if so pro's and con's. and what sort of prices is the normal.
Thanks

If you've never done it before I'm sure they'd still be value in doing it for free??
It may be on the basis of how good your shots turn out.
I've been offered upto £80 but usual from what I've heard is around 40-60 per night.

I wouldn't do it personally - I'd prefer to be on the other side of the camera having more than a few beers.

I know a guy who does it regularly and he commented that you have to be really careful with your gear, on several occasions people have taken it upon themselves to 'wash' his camera with vodka & coke... So he uses and older body/lens combo.

I do know people who do it and they love it, although my opinion I wouldn't do it.

I was asked at one of Britains leading nightclubs to take photography every Sat night and for the big events with international djs. Even though this all seemed enticing, I swerved away purely on the basis of -

Not enough money, 60 pound as the above poster said, is the going rate.
Risk of equipment being stolen/damaged.
**** heads giving you a hard time.
Commitment every Sat night!!!

That being said, I have done a few wkends to cover and have enjoyed it. Just personally couldn't do it every week.

Good luck with it, I'd suggest going with 50 for your going rate and drinks chucked in.
