I'm getting well ahead of myself but I've been reading up on some lenses I may like to get in the future. Some were bemoaning the performance of the Canon 70-200 f/4 at night in comparison to the f/2.8. Granted IQ probably differs between the lenses but, provided you stabilise properly and have an adequate shutter speed, why is the smaller aperture such a pain?
Obviously there will be greater motion blur if there is movement in the shot but beyond that I'm not quite sure why it would be such a big deal.
Is there something else I'm missing?
