Hello there
I have started to do night time photography mainly the build environment so i have to content with street lighting and other types , i have tried taking multiply exposers and using HDR to combine them and although this works to certain extent it still struggles with street lighting , would it be better to use Layering to create HDR images ?. Any help much appreciated .
Thanks .

These were taken early this morning. Fuji XF-1, auto white balance, only light source street lights. Both handheld

Well rule No.1 is don't shoot street shots through the windows from inside your house! :bonk: :D

Unless I'm being a bit silly here (which is very definitely possible) it's really not clear what you're actually trying or wanting to do, you've just posted two photos that, with respect, don't really show anything at all of any interest. What's your ultimate goal with this? Are you trying to shoot HDR? Do you want to just capture street scenes at night 'as they are'?

What is it exactly you're wanting to do?

You do realise those photos were not posted by the op and were posted to show settings more than anything I'm sure ;)

You're forgiven! I had been beside an open door and it was (literally) freezing cold, so I thought it would be unfair on my wife to let the heat out of the bedroom!!! :) As Matt pointed out, the 2 I posted were purely to show that cameras cope remarkably well when left to their own devices.

Like I said, no wuckin' furries! And I have a slight admission too - the pic with the reflections has my wife in shot (under the street light) so it was purely for MY comfort (and the cat's) that I didn't open the window!
