Nifty Fifty - Camera Settings?

Just got home and popped the new lens on my D70.

I note it has an aperture ring. From what I gather, if I use it in Aperture Priority mode (which I do the majority of my photography in) you lock the aperture ring at F/22 and then the camera will take care of the aperture.

Is this right? seems to work ok!
 
Interesting.... I only hope I still remember this NEXT WEEK when I pop my new nifty onto my D70.

I may have already said this in a previous thread but Grrrrr.... :lol:

I've also got a D40x which is a good camera, but I would prefer the D70 if it wasn't for the tiny screen on the back. IMO its a better camera than the D40x.

I've got my eyes set on a D300 body but can't afford it at the moment :shake:
 
Ooh a D300 lovely. I reckon I've spent about 2 grand in 12 months since taking up togging, including a new computer and printer, so I've got to take it easy for a few months before I even think about upgrading.
I've started an account to put in any money I get from b'days, xmas, car boots etc. so I can save towards a new bod.
Could take a while. :gag:
