Have you been associated with any guys with funny or not so funny nicknames.

To start it off I knew a chap at work they called "Peggy" the nickname was acquired one morning when he accidentally pulled a few clothes pegs from his pocket, his explanation was that he had been hanging the washing on the line before he left for work:D.

We use to call this guy Steve because he popped out at lunch to buy stamps once....and his name was Steve. :p
 
mine used to be massive basically i got the name when i worked the doors as i was the smallest guy working on the door at the time
they took the mick with it for years

the nick name stuck very good lads to work with especially when one of them could make angry grown man cry

Mate's called Pinky. Only cos he brought a pink Nike bag into school. He loves it :D
 
Know someone called 'Squiddly' cos' when everyone else was Christmas shopping he bought two squid fishing lures.

Another mate called 'Nobby' because of his resemblance to Nobby Stiles.
'Tat' because when he was nick-named he had tatty hair.
My husband still gets 'Hippy' from friends from way back.
'Spug' cos' he had spuggies legs (that's sparrow's legs to you Southerners)
'Hotdog' (RIP) no-one can remember why.

Then, when I worked in an engineering factory there was a multitude of names that I'm sure I'll be remembering all night now.

In fact, I'm starting to wonder if we refer to anyone by their proper name.
Oh, and I still get Loopy from my ex colleagues.
 
at work i get called flakey, due mainly to a scalp condition i have, tbh im not at all bothered by being called it, its never really bothered me being given a nickname


more interestingly i was given this nickname by someone who is heavily overweight and gets offended if anyone mentions his weight, those in glass houses....


in the past ive been called 'H' by a few folk, because of my old firstname

At the first place I worked at as a youngster, there was an old guy called "dripit" who's job it was to make the tea, he would often have a runny nose and while filling all the cups...............:D

we've got a pinky and a pirky at work, one had a stupid pink streek in his hair when he started at work and the other guy started at the same time in the same department so he kinda got stuck with it, they;re both as stupid as each other!

Reminds me of another called "pickit" who was always picking scabs on the back of his neck.

my work is a goldmine of hilarious nicknames....

we have-
massive, a stick thin 30something bloke
miniMe, small and angry looking
rabC, scottish
churchill, a bloke who looks a bit like churchill the dog and sometimes, says 'ooohhh yes'
chuckie, looks like a rugrats character
strongbow, like the blokes off of the strongbow ads staring into space with his gob open



and my current favourite....
'spiller' - one of our female designers, she lay under one of the cars one day while one of the lads was trying to explain something to her, she spilled out of her top
 
My favourite nickname is a friend of a friend (you get the message, an aquantance) who's nickname is Noodle because of all the pot he smokes. Even his Mum calls him Noodle because he's been called it for so long by so many people
 
Just remembered one.

Sorry if anyone knows him, but we had a engineer who was called the rainbow warrior because after a few bevvies he um, well had a few accidents at various B & B's so it was decided that there would always be a rainbow over his bed....
 
All my mates from home still call me Goffer which is some kind of strange hybrid of my original nickname, Goofy, which I had when I was at Junior School!? :D
 
Oh, and the missus reckons that foodstuff nicknames are popular with Cumbrian ex-pats as amongst our group we have a Curry, Taity, Toast & Cornsnax
 
Lots of nicknames about.

One guy on the radio recently was salled "Spider" - his name was Webb.

Family here known as The Clampetts because they look like Hillbillies.
Woman here known as Mrs Mangel because she is nosey. (I am told Mangel is a character in that awfull Neighbours programme).
 
There's a family we call the Clampetts across the road from us too!! They were playing cheesy trance from 6am this morning at 300db......:thumbsdown::thumbsdown:
 
I get called a few. The most obvious being Clarky, but also Nobby (for the reasons here), Monkey (a generic nickname used by 2 or 3 of my close friends for each other, because we were once referred to as a 'bunch of moneys') 'Psycho' because of my wild mood swings, Mini-Bob (A guy at work named Bob is a pretty angry bloke. I'm nearly as angry and work closely with him in our media dept) and finally Steve (as in SCUBA-Steve, my dive buddy at work has the nickname Dan, as in Diver-Dan).
 
At work we have,
Hose Pipe he's a part time fireman.
Frosty, always goes somewhere hot and sunny for his hols but still comes back pale white.
Toffee Ar5e or Chewit because someone once said he walked like he was clenching a toffee or chewit between his bum cheeks. Also known as Scooters as he has two Lambrettas and a Vespa.
I have several nicknames, Warrior as in Ultimate Warrior from WWF wrestling as I had long hair similar to his and in the early 90's I was alot more muscular than now. Keegan, take too long and hard to explain.
Russell who got called Rusty Balls by his ex Mother in Law, we've shortened that to Balls. Another called Idiot, Schizo, Devil Spawn or Laughing Boy, because all the names suit him depending on his mood.
Stongbow, because he is forever beaming off like the blokes in the Strongbow adverts.
Doggy, because whilst working away, he phoned home and someone overheard him ask to talk to the dog.
Probably loads more too.
 
We have a Bambi, because he looks like Bambi walking on ice while playing sports. We have a Buzz, for his surname Lightfoot, we have a Flash...not sure why though. Snouter is a name given to a guy at work because of his large schnoz, and George...because he's from Yorkshire and he looks and sounds like George Formby.
 
Headmaster in my high school days was called Flakey Bill, he was bald and had horrendous dandruff.
 
Oh yeah another one, My year 6 teacher was called baldy locks and the three hairs :lol:

When I was at school I was in the stumps at cricket and missed a ball that took my front upper teeth, so had to wear falses.
Forgot em one morning at the post office and got the knickname Andy gump lol, was Andy for years till I got a job where my Dad used to work.

Well he was **** and being 6'3" I got stuck with Big **** , needless to say,I never mentioned this on the next job...................................:eek:
