Is it crippling debt? I always end up getting one of those when I call in :D

Old school Nikons

mind you i seen what the wife wants now so its still going to cost me

And no photos? I realise this is someone's present we're invited to discuss but a thread without a photo is completely pointless:bang::bang::bang:

Here is some pics

I also did a little research this morning and as I thought it is a later 'N' model with the uprated flash synch speed and aluminium shutter instead of the early Titanium shutter which I have on my FE2 not that it matters. It dates it from no earlier than 1989 i believe, I also think looking at the condition it has had very few rols through it.

On another point it has the straight marked focus screen without the prism which I have been wanting to try out for ages. I once read that any series 8o's user replaced the prism screen with one of these screens for better focusing . I must admit just a half hour spend looking through it prior to it being popped away I have to agree...

I also have to Add Nick the chap who runs it is on the TP forum and is a very nice chap to deal with.

As soon as I met him and indicated I was a forum meber he offered special discounts (wicked man) and quite simply went out of his way with the freebies, superb service.

Very nice! A classic indeed.

Looks mint too.

Those Nikons are absolute gems - and that one looks minty! The B2 focusing screen, which I think is the one you are referring to, is a joy to use.

I could be wrong but should there not be a rubber bit around the viewfinder where the diopter lenses screw in so it's not metal against your eye?

I'm sure there was one on my FM. Can't remember if it was the same on my FM2N, sold it years ago unfortunately.

Correct, I have the rubber eye piece on my FE,but it is missing on my FM2n,you can obtain them on the bay from time to time.

Yes it is the B2 it just has a plain screen with a grid and a centre circle.
its is as you say lovely to use.

well it will be when i am allowed it

The last price I saw on ebay for one of the standard eye pieces was £16 for a new one. Needed one for my F2 but luckily found a spare one at home so didn't need to buy it. Bit expensive I thought.

Quite a nice collection of m/f Nikon's you are getting. What is it, an FE2, FG & now the FM2n? Wonder how long it will be until you surrender to an F3 at this rate?

Thank you kindly sir and yes thats my lot at the moment.
I am not sure if there is another one I like although I might look for a super minty FE2 in chrome if one pops up, i also have my Kiev 60 and my Olympus Trip and apart from a few others which will go soon thats me.

Nikon M/f s are just so cool and easy to use for me
