Hi all,

Hi Tom, thanks for that :)

St Margs sounds like the one for me then. Still waiting for my filters to arrive ***. Would be good to do a preliminary run tomorrow.

If your doing that, and coming up from St Margret's Bay itself and keep to the cliff path itself ther are several spots along there where you should be a able to catch the sunset with the old lighthouse [a old Victorian structure right on the cliff edge] in fg. A bit further along there is the later lighthouse in white and set back from the cliffs.

Remember to post you shots when you get back.

Ooh, what a coincidence, another Paul from Canterbury!

Off now. Sky looks overcast and dull, but a good opportunity to see whats out there. P

Ok, all. Dont get too excited, found the Lighthouse which def has some potential. However, my lack of skills meant this was the best I could muster:

Not overly happy with the results as they are unremarkable this is post-hdr and lightroom. The 3rd shot I am happiest with. Would love C&C as really want to improve.

If anyone else can make it to another visit, maybe you could show me the way??!

Anyway, the way I see it is more shots make me better, click by click!

#1 - f22 is too small an aperture for digital, on the D70 f16 is about the max without diffraction making the image soft. And it shows up all your sensor dust spots too.
#2 - F4.5 is too large an aperture as nothing much will be in focus as far as buildings go!
Google Dof and hyperfocal distance.
#3 - the only thing in sharp focus is the pealing paint on the far corner. The backgroung is nicely OoF but the NT logo was possibly the obvious PoF? F8 may have been a better choice here both for sharpness and enough Dof for the NT logo and the peeling paint.

Hi BT, thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Only seen the dust spots now! HA ha, look like tennis balls!

Will def take on board your comments and incorporate them nxt time :)

Thanks for taking the time to write, will google dof HF distance.

Cheers

Paul
