Next Mac question

Well I did warn you! :nuts:

At the moment I can only left click my mouse, when I right click it just performs the same function as left click. How to I get it to perform the right click functions?

The guy at the shop didn't tell me that, he was happily right clicking away and was obviously so quick I didn't see him use the keyboard.

Assuming you're using a Mighty Mouse, go to System Preferences > Keyboard & Mouse. Click the mouse tab and from there you can configure the left, right, centre and sides of the mouse

Alternatively, if you just plug in a regular PC mouse, it will be recognised and work just as it would on a PC without the need to fiddle with the options.

If it's a recent mac mouse then it will have second button functionality. go into system preference, keyboard and mouse and there should be an option to allow right button clicking. Although the MM looks like it only has one button it acts on a rocker so clicking while tilting the mouse right, right clicks

I stand partially corrected! I'm on a Macbook so haven't used a Mighty Mouse before properly I know my suggestion works though!

Although I have a Mighty Mouse, personally, I can't get on with the right click. I actually have left & right configured as the primary button and just use CTRL > Click as my right click option. It becomes second nature very quickly

Thanks Paul, I'm starting to pick it all up now, this is so much easier than windws once you start to find your way around. Just ran some updates to be greeted by a "welcome to Safari 4" and a wall of my favourite websites, awesome!
