after buying the 35-350L I am now thinking of the next lens to get, I want a wide angle and thinking of the sigma 10-20 can anyone give me feed back on this or any other lens in this sort of range must be sharp:), would have liked to stick with canon but to my knowledge they only do the ef-s lens.in this kind of range.

cheers Rick

There is loads of stuff on wide angle on here... only recently we talked about how wide angles aren't sharp... use the search button...

The Canon EF-S 10-22mm is a better lens than the Sigma 10-20mm: sharper, faster quieter focus, less CA and distortion, etc. But it's also more expensive.

The fact that the Canon is EF-S isn't a reason to favour the Sigma, though. Sigma call it a "DC" lens which means it's designed for crop-sensor bodies. It will physically fit on a full-frame camera (which the EF-S won't), but that's not really much of an advantage because it can't deliver an image big enough to fill the frame.

It'll give you vignetting the whole time, you might be best off looking at 16 or 17mm on full frame for UWA?

agreed UWA on a FF body is about 16mm

if it's going on the 5d my choice would be a 17-40L it might only be f4 but that would be fine for my landscape addiction.
