After reading loads of topics right here on the forum and the other internet sites, the dummies guide to my D90, and watching a couple of Magic Lantern DVD's I am starting to understand ISO, aperture, shutter speed, histograms etc., how they affect my photo, and I know that the biggest limiting factor between my camera and a good photo is me.

I fully appreciate that a thorough understanding of my camera and the various things that affect a photo do not necessarily make someone a good photographer.

What book would you recommend I look at next in terms of good photography practices? I.e., things to consider to get the best (or different) results when photographing people, landscapes, animals, sports, motorsport, etc. etc.

I wouldn't recommend buying any books, everything you need and more can be found for free with a quick Google.....

Really the best thing to do is to take loads of photos and learn how to critique your pictures.

The photographers eye (M Freeman) is a good book for looking at composition (in fact all of his books seem to be pretty fine to me).
