Hi,

I have the above "mixed" equipment, there's no way my neweer strobes will go on my stand with my softbox which has a speedring for a speedlite (has the shoe mount runner).

Can I get just a speedring and bracket for my stand that will allow the neweer strobe to be attached and the softbox?

Thanks :)

Really depends on the strobe/softbox. The strobe should be stand mount. So you need a speeding that is compatible with both the strobe and the soft box to mount the box to the strobe.

Probably going to better/easier to get a larger box w/ the appropriate ring for the strobe...

Yes you can, here's 1 on ebay.

thats what i have ,except i want to put my strobe where the speedlite is. my strobe has the same connector that the speedlite ring has in the image, where it screws ontop of the stand itself

I've half a dozen stands now. Just need the right bracket. Ah well, back to fleabay lol

Doesn't the Neewer strobe fit on a light stand?

If it does, you're just looking for a speed ring for the softbox, that'll be the tricky thing to buy, because it relies on either; the softbox manufacturer making one for the Neewer strobe or; Neewer making one for your soft box.

So you'll probably end up bodging something, or buying a softbox from Neewer.

Possibly the easiest bodge would be to buy a barn door or similar for your Neewer head to use as a basis for the adaptor. Another option would be to get an S fit adaptor for the Neewer and then buy a new S fit softbox. Leaving your old soft box for just speed lights, and building a bit of 'future proof' into your kit.

In fact, just buy this.

Cheaper than any adaptor you'll find.

Jeez don't need one of these really. (then again I don't need most of the stuff I have) but thats well cheap. Could it be used with speedlight do you think. I only have a 24x24 softbox at the moment but this might be fun to play with ?
Would need the bracket too I guess.

The strobes I have are the 250DI model (x3). I've emailed neweer direct, they're in the US. You never know, they might have some hanging around :/

I've bookmarked that page phil, that looks interesting! Thanks :)

Yes you'd need a bracket.

But, I'd get 2, so that you can lay your flashgun along the umbrella shaft, with one there'd be quite a gap between the head of your flashgun and the brolly shaft.

Hi Phil thanks for the reply. I know i'm being a pain in the arse but do you know which type of bracket to buy (example)
I get it if you don't have the time nor inclination to look :-)

I can't recommend any regarding robustness, but 2 of these will allow you to mount a brolly to a stand and then a flashgun at right angle to it and along the brolly shaft.

Your best answer really is just to mount it on a standard lighting stand and buy a "universal fit" softbox that will clamp onto the front of your light - it's the only thing that fits this type of head.

This will at least make sure that there is no discernable light spill.

BTW, this is a Chinese brand, not American

Cheers Phil much obliged.

Is it this what you are looking for ? a "Bowens s-fit" adapter for "universal fit" studio lights, i thought you meant for a speedlight in my first reply.
