I have recently purchased Elements 6 and a work mate has a copy of "Photoshop Elements 7 Book for Digital Photographers (Voices That Matter)" by Scott Kelby which he assures me that it will be ok for me to use. Can someone confirm if that is the case or would i be better buying a book specifically for Elements 6.

A lot of the principles will be the same, however it may mention some new features that your version of Elements doesn't have, but they will usually say that they are new in Elements 7 or something like that.

Thanks a lot for that. I shall hopefully try to get to grips with elements.

I've had both versions and there isn't a great deal of difference. I'd say 6 and 7 are 95% the same!

The book should be fine!

Agreed - apart from a few interface tweaks and some new features it'll all be much the same.

IMO Kelby's books are the easiest to learn from, you just have to put up with the "jokey" style - I bought one as a gift for a friend who was starting to call me up waaayyy too often wiuth photoshop questions (not that I'm exactly an expert) and they've learned shedloads from it
