Newby greetings

Hi, found some much appreciated info on this site,i am relatively new to the DSLR world and am eager to learn,I enjoy all aspects of photography ,at the moment I am favoring taking pics of my dog running ,I have a lurcher and am struggling to get the sharp picture i want of her at full speed.
I am a active member on another Forum but am interested in seeing as many images as possible from like minded people.
I am a Sony A230 user at the moment but can feel an upgrade coming on.

Welcome to the forums

Getting focus on something moving fast towards you is not easy. If your camera has servo mode for focus the use that and maybe try shutter priority to get you 1/500th or faster to freeze the action. You may need to increase the ISO if it is not a very bright day. good luck and post your results.
