Hi Guys.
I would like to introduce myself as a Newbie, I am 67yr old from York UK, during the lockdown i decided to take up photography again after a very long break, so i bought my favourite camera. Nikon, I purchased a D300 with just 4726 actuations 4 months ago then i saw a D700 with just 2782 actuations so i purchased that as well so the D700 is my go to Camera with my D300 as my back up. then i needed some Lens so i bought the Nikon Nikkor AF-S 50 mm f/1.8G. my Nikon 28 - 105mm 1:3.5 - 4.5D and my Nikon 80 - 200mm 1:2.8 D so I just wanted to round my Lens of with a lens that will be good for Birds and Wildlife (UK) I do not know if i dont know if i could make do with a 400mm or have to go for the 500mm or 600mm. I am not well versed in the latter two lens, I have been offered a Sigma APO DG 150-500mm F/5-6.3 APO HSM DG OS Lens for £400 only suppose to have been used twice, but then i have been told that I can get the better 150 -600mm Sigma for that price, I have never seen it though ?? my favourite shots are Wildlife, also Air Displays, Maybe when this Plague has left us I will manage to get out with my kit and get some good photos, Nice to be with the Group. Health Wishes to All and their Families.

Hi and welcome to the forum, you certainly have some decent kit there! Have fun here and enjoy yourself

Thank you Norkie, I love your Avatar Picture, Is it the Bald Eagle ? and did you take it ?

Thank you, yes American Eagle. I took the image at Banham Zoo in Norfolk some years ago.

Norkie. Thats what I aim to do, visit some of the birds of Prey Sanctuaries when they are open. Did you know that some of the Wildlife Parks have special days where photographers can pay X amount and they let you get closer to the animals that you would if you just paid for a normal visit.

No I wasn't aware of that? When we are able I'll have a look around. Where are you based?

Attleborough, Norfolk.

Here is the link to the Yorkshire Air Museum, loads of Aircraft to photograph, it is a genuine WW2 Bomber Airdrome with most of the stuff left like it was, and around the back is a Chieftain Tank that I helped to restore, (I served in the Tank Regiment so it was a doddle lol) https://yorkshireairmuseum.org/

I shall put those on my bucket list, cheers ;)

We sometimes visit Duxford, great day out.
