I have been 'dabbling' with photography for years, and sometimes i have more success that others, but i think that has been more luck than judgement.
For my birthday i was given a D350 with the stock 18/55 lens, having read the manual i now have a fair idea how the manual side of things works and am starting to get used to it.
A lot of the shots i have done have been of people, i like the natural look and so like to shoot in such as way that people don't realise you are doing it, but with the lens i have a always seem too close, and as soon as the camera comes out they all run for cover.
i have looked at Sigma lenses and there seem to be a whole multitude available, and some of them are a very nice price as well, given my skill level - very amateur and my budget - sub £200 is there anything i should look out for, or conversely avoid.
Thanks in advance for your advice
