Hello everybody...

Been lurking a little while with the intention of getting into photography. Always "pointed and shot" so to speak but always wanted to learn the technicalities since my dad gave my a 30 year old Chinon 35mm SLR.

Anyway, recently bought a Canon DSLR and I'm having a lot of fun with it. In addition, and because its always with me, I shoot with my iPhone camera and have an online gallery if you want a laugh at my work http://instacanv.as/paulsanderson.

I'll have plenty of questions for you, and likewise if you have any for me ask away.

As for what interests me, wildlife photography interesting architecture mostly. I work on an offshore wind farm so a lot of my work is from out at sea.

I wouldn't put yourself down so quick Paul....having taken a quick look at your gallery, theres some very good shots on there imo.

Do you still shoot any 35mm with the Chinon??

its all learning process and unfortunately the stuff on my link is mostly from my camera phone so not the best quality.

Im learning to shoot the 35mm. To be honest I'm cheating by using digi (as i can just delete) then learning to shoot the 35mm but i guess the principles are the similar.

Needless to say I'm sure i will learn a lot from you knowledgeable folk...thanks for the warm welcome.

I don't think any of us stop learning ....photography continually progresses!

Using digital as a way of cheating out of film!! lol ....not at all, it's all about doing what you want to do, what you can afford and what results you want.
The basic principles are the same i guess between film and digital ( I may have started a debate there! lol)...........film does tend to make you think more of what and how you shoot though simply because the delete/ retake option is a more expensive one and of course you can't see the results immediatley.
Whichever route you choose to take, you have come to the right place for help and advice.
