Hi, I've never edited photos and have always tended to try and get them right on camera and then use the Jpeg. I know it's primitive but have found the raw side of things so daunting. Is there free software i can use to get started? Files are canon so .CR2 files. Where would I start please? Any tutorials you'd recommend for a total beginner? Thanks, Craig

Canon cameras used to come with DPP software for editing RAW files.
I'm sure you can still download it.
There may be tutorial videos included or you can find some on YouTube.

Editing RAW is nothing to be wary of, it's just a bit of this and a bit of that to tweak the photo into something you might like better than was taken with just Straight Out Of Camera (SOOC) settings with no tweaking. For editing .Jpeg look at the free software Gimp, and Paint can be useful too.
