Welcome Lesley.
You will get more comments if you post the image, rather than links.
I won't click on links,a lot of people won't; all you have to do is embed the images in the post instead, that way folks can see them and leave comments.
Go to Flickr, and copy the BB code and pste it into the post, and there you go.

Are you struggling Lesley?

i am indeed Gary - i have no idea what i am doing wrong (that i'm a bit of a computer numpty!)

got it Gary - found the BB code - many thanks for your help!

That's it, they have mysteriously appeared. Well done.
Oh, and generally if you want people to comment on your images try and post them in the critique forum, as that's where most look.
While I'm here though: All this is just my opinion, I'm sure some will disagree with me.
#1, You have done well with the white background , but in this case I think it would benefit from some sort of background to give it context.
#2 Cute westie!. It is a tight crop, but isn't too bad. I think it could do with a touch more contrast to bring the blacks up a bit.
#3 My favourite. Good B&W conversion, and a lovely moment captured.
#4 Again a tight crop, which I quite like. Good focus on the eyes, but the flash is a bit harsh.
Well done for your 1st post.
Look forward to seeing more in the future in the critique section.

Thanks Gary for you feedback - i struggled with #2 and the lighting, i will try again but perhaps outside with some natural light

If you're looking for feedback, the very best place to start is sharing your photos and pushing them out into the wide world for others to see. From the very beginning, I found my best tool for feedback was Flickr and it still is today. It allowed me to add to hundreds of relevant groups and I quickly saw my view and comment count rocket. Other good photo sharing websites are available. xD
