Friday afternoon, work's winding down, so I thought I'd pop in for a formal handshake.

Have been browsing the forum this last week in the hope that I can gain some knowledge and one day post a few shots that come somewhere half close to the stuff I've seen on here.

I've finally got myself a DSLR to play with. A rather nice Canon 400D from Jessops - complete with cashback and a FREE Lowepro Slingshot 100AW. Think they're giving em away in the hope you go back and buy a few extra lenses to fill the spaces!

Am off now to the met office website and see if I'm likely to be able to persuade the missus and daughter that we should go for a nice walk along the coast this weekend.

...otherwise i'll be practising taking shots of bean tins in Asda at the weekend!

Hi 68lbs, welcome from another Teessider, Do you work for Asda? Ifso, which one, my missus works at Southbank Asda.

I also cannot recommend RGB tech in Middlesbrough highly enough either, they are much cheaper than Jessops, and if you find cheaper at places like warehouse express, they will usually match it no problem. Any advice you need, go and see them, they know their stuff (unlike Jessops), and no i don't work for them :D

Don't work there... but might get dragged into shopping there.

I took a look in RGB (that's the shop just along from Jessops, yeah?) but they didnt seem to be any cheaper on the 400D, but will bear it in mind next time I'm after something. At the mo, I'm spent up and need to learn how to use what I've got though :)
