Hello everyone! My name is Ashley, 19 years young and from the Houston area. What brings me here? Well good question, I joined this site because I have finally realized that i wanna make photography a profession and possibly even a career business in the future. I plan on doing photography for modeling, pet/wildlife photography, possibly scenery, or just regular portraits for like a family photo. I will be working and hopefully doing meetups or some group activities or lessons on the side during my days off. Im not sure if people usually meetup or make dates to have group events on this website or not but I am really looking to learn everything i can to become a professional photographer. Hope to make alot of photographer friends on here and learn some new advice, tips, and tricks from everybody. :| Sorry if i rambled on :lol:​
 
Hi Ashley and welcome to TP - Post some images and get some crit on them, that will really help you to appreciate what works and what doesn't. I guess if you want to become professional it would help to be a little different from the normal crowd. Perhaps work on developing your own style that becomes recognisable and sellable.

Hi Ashley I too am from Houston. I don't see many here from the states but I found this site to be instrumental in my photography education . I want to get involved with some clubs or groups but I really haven't put much time into it yet. I know there is a pretty active group south of us near clear lake that meets on Thursdays. I'm sure there are more groups closer to us. If you come across any I sure would like to know. I'm super busy right now but as soon as I can break free I am going to give it a hard look. I will let you know if I find anything interesting. Oh, and welcome to the forum ;)
