Newbie from the far, far, far North of Scotland

Hi folks, recently joined the site and only started taking photography semi-seriously since the start of the year. I live in the far North of Scotland and I'm an IT Security Specialist but would much rather be doing something else like wandering in the wilderness up here taking some photos.

I bought myself a Canon EOS 450d in January with kit lens (18-55) since then I have added a nifty 50 (F1.8) and a 55-250 (f4-5.6), also added a 430exII speedlight.

Really having a blast with my new found hobby and so keen to improve. I've set up a website and I'm on flickr so I'll add the links at the bottom of the post.

Looking forward to gleaning as much info from here as I can and hopefully I'll one day be able to help some one else who is new.

always fancied a week brown trout fishing from the Scourie Hotel who do cheaper early-season mini-breaks

but.........it's a long way from Glasgow

A bit of Loch fishing, very popular up here.

Glasgow isn't that far away, well 5ish hours by car but the benefits definitely outway the drawbacks of living in such a stunning part of Scotland.
