Hello, lurked a bit and just signed up
I'm an absolute beginner with a Samsung Galaxy NX which I chose for the Android OS that runs on it, I'm a bit of an IT gadget nerd.
When I say absolute beginner I really mean it. In the past people have said that the photos I take with my mobile phone are nice to look at so I thought I'd see what I could do with my first DSLR.
I'm finding that AP is my new auto as it's the only thing in "Expert mode" that I have fathomed so far. I'm hooked on narrow depths of field. I use some of the pre-set modes too (I discovered what it calls "nighttime mode" this week so everyone's bored to death of my photographs of the bridges of Newcastle, where i spent the last few days).
Some of the questions I'd like to ask are just too embarrassing (like, how do I make sure I'm holding the blasted thing straight, landscapes always seem off horizontal) so I'll keep them to myself along with my collection of terribly clichéd photographs, for now until I build a modicum of credibility.
Thanks, I look forward to joining the chit chat.
