Newbie flash question

I have just acquired a Canon Speedlite 300TL and a Sunpak Power Zoom 4000AF (Canon EOS fit).

I know I can't use these directly on my Canon 7D, but can they be used off camera with remote triggers?

Would like to have a play about, but don't want to spend money on triggers if they can't be used.

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Yes. Yongnuo RF-602 radio triggers seem to be favourite these days, £28 a set from our Flash In The Pan (see advertisers section below). You'll need an extra receiver to fire both guns remotely.
