New zoom

Id like to expand my kit to include a longer telephoto. This was highlighted with my frustrations at the recent airshow. Id also like start trying my hand at a bit of wildlife photography.

Ive been doing some reading on what seems popular and ive noticed the sigma's come out on top.

Ive looked at few and found these 2:

Obviously the second is slightly down on range but has a slighly wider aperature.

Can anyone shed any experience on these or recommend any others?

My current body is a D90.

Used a 150-500 for three years on my Canon 350D and 7D, great lens, I mainly shoot birds but here is a link to some I shot with the 350D and Sigma a few years ago.

I use the 150-500 and would rather the extra zoom as I go around nature reserves or use it in the garden, if you have some spare pennies a monopod is useful as it is a chunky lens. I have used this more than my other lenses and found it to be sharp at the top end, the OS motor is worth the money at 500mm and you can have it on 2 settings- one for tripod and one for monopod. Digital Photo did a review on this a few months ago and you may be able to see it online, for me this is one cracking lens and go for it!

both of the lenses in your links and TBH there's not a great detail of difference in IQ, the OS is the same and the AF speed is about the same too, the 120-400 is very slightly quicker but there's not much in it. I bought both of my lenses from www.panamoz.com and they have the 150-500 in at just over £600.
