Morning all, off to NYC in December - finally plucked up the courage to go alone purely for a photography week. Just need some ideas as where to shoot.

Any suggestions would be great.

Skudson I did NYC in Dec 2012 shots in my signature, head up the rock about 15:30 to capture day and night in one visit.
Staten Island ferry is free and gives you stunning views of the NYC skyline and also the statue of liberty, again time this right and you can get day/sunset/night shots in one trio

One of the around-Manhattan cruises is worthwhile. Some great opportunities for skylines and different perspectives of bridges etc.

Here're a few I took from one of the cruises (apart from the low-angle shot of the Chrysler building). These were using my old 5Mp bridge camera when I visited several years ago.

Also, Top of the Rock (Rockefeller Center) is better for photography than the top of the Empire State Building as you can see Central Park as well as the southern half of Manhattan island.

Been three times now and looked at this each time- decided it wasn't for me as just didn't seem worth it. I used Viator or many of my tickets to the attractions.
