Just got the video light and it is powerful. There are plenty of postings about it on youtube so no real need for me to do the same.

This is the complete rig

Sennheiser HD215 over ear headphones
Sennheiser MK400 microphone
Mike support bracket (to attach to camera)
CN160 video light
Panasonic HC-X900M camcorder
49mm UV filter
Velbon C400 tripod with fluid head (super light to carry about)
+ memory card of course

Too bright to shine direct at the camera and bit out of focus I know(sorry about that) but it gives some idea of how bright the light is.

All I can add is if your using a camera for video work get this product

Ordered one of these last night to try in a shoot in a couple of weeks time, can't wait to try it out :)

Dan you won't be disappointed, its far brighter than I thought it would be. I only have the 6 aa batteries in it but all mine are the recharge type. I decided on the filter as the camera has built in shutters that go over the lens. To get any contaminates behind could easily scratch the lens

looks great, how many extra stops do you think this gives over what distance!

I am going to use it for video work on my Panasonic HC-X900M camcorder purely for video work so sorry can't answer your question. When doing video you are left as they say "in the dark" without a constant light source for indoor/night work, which makes the camcorder/DSLR in video mode virtually useless during this time.

One other use is thinking about it is to produce "daylight" for desktop work with a light box, not that I have tried that either.

If your thinking of it for your Canon 7D in video mode then go for it. Its ideal for indoor parties - wedding receptions-gigs and the like for at least up to 18 feet away (max power as its variable) which is plenty for that use I would have thought. What more being on top of your camera you can get into the middle of the action. It won't replace the traditional flashgun or large studio lighting, but its not really designed for that purpose. Its a cold shoe fitting against a flashgun which works on a hot shoe. Also has a screw thread if wanted on a tripod
I had the usually concerns about buying something like this and did a load of research and every report was favourable. I decided for the price it was worth a punt and all I can say its well worth my money at least. Around £34/35 I paid for it

Sorry don't do metric measurements

Got to revise the distance now its dark, it lights up far beyond 18 ft you can at least double that distance.
