Yeah have a look on the POTN SE thread, just felt the CL a bit too small, and really should have dished the dosh for this one last week, they took the CL back no questions.
It still makes me laugh that your whole start in film was caused by a man who wears tweed suits and cravats to break into buildings and explorer them. Lets not forget his antique bike with wicker basket either.
That man in a tweed suit was in top form, cravate on and three film cameras (all film) strapped round his neck, yesterday at a derelict hospital explore in Radlett..........he nearly wet himself when I showed him the Leica........trying to upload to flickr at the moment but its soooooooooooooo slow
Rob, you know better than most that we never break into anywhere, we might be ingenious but we never break and enter
Looks like a hair not a crack, going to get it sent off for a quick service for peace of mind but it does come with 6 months warranty, no meter on the M2..........looking for a hotshoe mount Voigtlander VCII, collapsible for portability its a 50mm prime, think Leitz (Leica) do a similar 90mm one also.
The M2 has brightline frame lines that only come up depending on the length of the lens, 35, 50 and 90mm.........so a decent fast 35mm is defo on the cards for the wide angle.
I keep thinking about getting an M2 to compliment my M6 as changing lenses quickly is a bit of a pain.
The lack of a meter in the M2 shouldn't really be much of a hindrance if you shoot neg film as you can learn to eyeball it within the lattitude of the film pretty well if you practice. Alternatively a small lightweight handheld meter like the sekonic l308 will cover your needs.
Out of interest how much did it cost from red dot? They were great with my M6, better condition than described, not extortionate pricing and really good delivery
It was £550 for the body, looked all around the classic camera stores and £500-£600 seems to be the going price, might get one cheaper on the bay, but at least you have six months warranty to fall back on if something did go tits up.
Agree Ivor at Reddot is a pleasure to deal with, and what a fantastic store.............
Well lucky I did get this from Reddot as was about to run a test film through it at the weekend and when I opened the bottom loading plate a small scew dropped out of it , so it went back to Reddot today, he gave me the option of getting it sent off for repair or choosing something else out of their cabinets..............well they had a very nice looking M4 and with the extra framelines over the M2 it was a no brainer after they done me a good price.........hope this one works out ok.
