Hi guys I am new to the forum but more recently new to video, have been doing photography for 3-4 years now.

I just got myself a d7000, I know they are not made for video as much as the canons but was just interested in some general tips in regards to steadycams, gliders, focusing etc?

Any help appreciated thanks

Sorry mean to say the main thing I would be videoing would be stationary objects, mainly cars

If you don't want to spend a let of money and you're fairly handy at DIY, then you can make some good glide track/dolly systems. Just practice and also practice editing. 2 identical shots edited differently can make a huge difference

Im the opposite ,iv worked as a camera operator for ten years and only just started photography, i've built a number of grip equipment over the years from cranes to dollys to cable flycams. There are some pretty easy and cheap ways to build a good dolly, the best one being buy a set of wheels from ebay and cut a board to suit the size you want and then run it on plastic or alluminium pipe.

i bought a simmilar set as these from the US, you will need to pay a small import fee but at that price its still very cheap.

keeping diy grip equipment cheap is the key, if it goes over £150 then you are better just buying a pre built one. you may want to look through this page aswell, there are some reasonably priced pre built options there

hope it helps
