My father had a Kodak bellows camera (620 film) which I used to use as a lad. Then a Retinette (which lasted for many years), a Rolleiflex SL35 (which was nothing but trouble and just pre-dated open-metering), and a Canon film SLR. I resisted digital for some years before eventually joining the herd with an Ixus then a 400D (which I still have). The lens on the 400D failed and to keep me going I bought a G1X. Which was a mistake as I never liked it and is now off to be sold.

I was tempted to stay with DSLRs but got fed up of the weight etc and wanted a small fast prime lens on an unobtrusive camera. The Fuji X100 prices were coming down and eventually I bought the black LE from Amazon when price was just over £700. With case and filter adaptor/lens hood I thought this was good value. It's early days but I think I will like it a lot. Perhaps I was impatient but I couldn't wait for the X100s to appear in the shops (and I did want the black so much!).

Anyway, nice to meet you all.

Geoff.
