Hello everyone from both a photography and a forum beginner. I remember thinking being a photographer was a dream job, I was 7 then and almost 30 years later I've decided to finally try my hand in it. Building a career of photographer wouldn't be for me now, but I'm still fascinated with the art of it as a whole.

Hi Paul, welcome to the forum, enjoy :)

Welcome to TP. Photography is far less stressful as a hobby than a job, from what I can see!
What sort of subjects are you interested in photographing, or don't you really know yet? I'd suggest trying everything a bit and then decide, don't close your mind to anything as you never know what might take your fancy.
Do you have a camera already? Is it meeting your needs? Oft-given good advice here is not to spend a lot on fancy kit before you know what you want to do and also it's wise to only upgrade when you know how your current kit is letting you down. That way you can control your spending - it can be an expensive hobby. Also, it's often best to start with buying used gear, again saving money if you get it wrong.
That all said, enjoy yourself and get stuck in.

This is exactly what I'm currently doing, just trying a bit of this and that! So far I've realized I really like portrait photography with a bit of landscape/city views. I have a Canon EOS R7, it was a birthday gift, which is probably a bit too cool for my current level, can't say I mind that tho:D

Hi Paul, And welcome aboard TP, looking forward to hearing from you and maybe seeing some of your images on the various forums. "Enjoy"

:welcome:

Welcome to the forum and to photography. Have fun.
