"It's brown and sticky!" describes many stick insects...

More seriously (and ON topic!), we visited a local zoo (Dartmoor Zoo) a few weeks back and saw a 4" (ish) stick insect with what looked like a small parasite on its (her) back. I thought it was probably a male and so it turned out to be - he was (probably still is...) tiny in comparison - under 1/2".

I would guess that a huge number of insect species have yet to be scientifically described and, indeed, a few much larger animals too.
