Isn't that a bit less than first thought? Sure it was touted around as being £800 a few weeks ago. Still, at £650, I won't be buying one any time soon.

OK this is a question? QUALITY WISE is this going to rival the nikon 24-70? The new sigma 50mm .4 is fantastic. May hold off on the nikon 24-70 to see how good this is.
It'll have to go some to beat the Nikkor - which is the best standard zoom available in any mount.

I meant, it's the best standard zoom available. There's nothing from anywhere else that betters it.
Don't we normally see pre order prices that are also higher than actual retail prices?
I'm sure the last lens I pre-ordered (A long time ago mind) actually sold for less.
