new sigma 105 macro and my d80 body

Just been trying out me new lens and i set aperature and lock it with speed priority as the instructions say at smallest f stop. But it says in aperature priortity unlock the aperature ring. So i do that and adjust it on the lens body to get the aperature to get greater depth of field that i want BUT 'fEE' flashes in the display on the body and i cant take a pic.

Any suggestions please?

Sheep, not sure about the Sigma macro, but I suspect you should be setting the lens to its minimum (f45) aperture and as you are already trying, using the click wheel on the camera body to set the aperture.

Goes and sits in corner..:bang: ..and remembers not to rely on the sigma instructions...:rules:..and also to remember that the recently acquired D80 has two click wheels unlike his D40X that has only one.....so it helps to use the right one :bonk: so yes leave the aperature locked on the lens at f32 and use the right click wheel in aperature mode to increase the depth of field and if my shots of sunbathing spiders are any good i shall share them later
